"Be a healthy, Biblical community of God's people, praying, blessing, and serving others in the name of Jesus Christ."
We are committed to developing holistic lives of service and fellowship with God and each other. We support, encourage, and create opportunities for people to actively live out faith. We see all of life, in its ordinary and extraordinary forms, as ministry. Our vision as church in Santa Barbara is to create "healthy biblical communities of holy people multiplying disciples, leaders, groups and churches."
And we have multiplied. Since our beginnings in 1955, our congregation has grown to include three worship services on Sunday mornings at 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. We have also planted a congregation in Goleta named Light and Life Goleta, pastored by David Goss, which now worships in Isla Vista, as well as helped develop a church plant on the Westside of Santa Barbara, Pueblo Free Methodist Church.
For us, the worshipful Christian life has always been more than just Sunday morning. During the week, our Mesa facility serves the most immediate needs of our most immediate neighbors through our Cliff Drive Care Center. Here, we run a fully licensed preschool and kindergarten readiness program as well as an after-kindergarten and after-school program. We also provide Christian counseling services with state-licensed therapists who believe in the integration of professional counseling with Christian beliefs and values. and we have a Senior Luncheon program we operate with many of our senior friends in the Villa Santa Fe retirement center across the street from the church. Alongside our presence on the Mesa, our aim is to support all of our church members in building lives of service.
The Free Methodist Church welcomes you to come and join us in our worship of God and our service to the community.
