Mentoring
A TEACHING CHURCH:
Empowering all people of the church body to mentor and be mentored
One of our core values, for many years, has been to be a teaching church where people of all ages can be in an environment of learning how to follow Jesus and be equipped with skills to serve in ministry and life.
As our church leadership has continued its work on a strategic plan, the priority of empowering all people to mentor and support the church body has become clear. Mentoring is defined as generously sharing one’s life experiences, wisdom, and knowledge with a willing mentee to help develop skills, competencies, and goals in his or her life. A mentor is an advisor, a coach, and a role model.
To that end, it is our mission to create spaces throughout the congregation and offer a teaching environment for all aspects of life. In these spaces, youth, young adults, middle adults, and senior adults can support and inspire each other to adopt a life strategy of mentoring both younger and older generations. This encourages all to recognize their purpose in the family of God, no matter what their age, to help everybody follow Jesus and learn from one another.
All of us can be life-long learners and teachers/mentors. We invite you to join the team.
