Encounter: Justice, Mercy, & Truth

  • Upper Fellowship Room (FMCSB) 1435 Cliff Drive Santa Barbara, CA, 93109 United States (map)

 January 15, 22, and 29th

John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist movement, was a man of social action. His passion to care for the needs of the poor, the marginalized, and disenfranchised was evident in his preaching, community service, and call for social justice. For three weeks we will explore Wesley's teachings on social justice, and how that shapes us today as Free Methodist's in Santa Barbara. We will explore the following questions:
How do we as a church live out justice, mercy, and truth?
What is social justice?
What role does the Free Methodist church play in bringing shalom to our world?
How does holiness, an integral part of our Wesleyan DNA, express itself as acts of love?
Each week will hallmark a number of social needs in our society and offer avenues for how we can be involved.
