Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent in the Christian calendar. It comes from the ancient Jewish tradition of penance and fasting. The practice includes the wearing of ashes on the head. The ashes symbolize the dust from which God made us and are a sign of our repentance.
Join us on February 14th in the sanctuary at 6:00pm for a short service of reflection and ashes as we begin the journey of Lent together.
