How can we become better followers of Jesus during this election season?

Are you becoming weary of bitter partisan divides and hopelessness in the political arena? Are you looking for ways that your faith can speak powerfully in the midst of this election season? We are too! We believe in fact, that it is possible during this election to become better followers of Jesus Christ rather than any candidate we might vote for, and in doing so, be salt and light in our world. But how can we become better followers of Jesus during this election season? We hope to humbly interrogate this question by having a series of conversations with respected Christian leaders/thinkers from different fields (political science, theology, and pastoral ministry) to see what advice and counsel they have to offer. Thinking well about this election in Christian community is vitally important if we want to be proactive rather than reactive to what is going on around us. We believe that our faith can intersect with politics but desire to find thoughtful ways in which to think about this intersection.* Pastor Nikki will be leading a series of conversations every other Saturday in October on Zoom** to help us process our discipleship during this time followed by a time of live Q and A with those who attend virtually:

  1. Watch the Conversation with Dr. Jesse Covington, Political Science Professor at Westmont College, HERE.

  2. Watch the Conversation with Rev. Dr. Brian Lugioyo, Theology and Ethics Professor at Azusa Pacific Seminary from October 17th HERE.

  3. A Conversation with Rev. Dr. Helen Rhee and Rev. Colleen Hurley-Bates, Church History professor at Westmont College and Senior Pastor, October 31st @10:00am

*This will not be a partisan discussion nor will any candidates be endorsed, but our primary allegiance to Jesus Christ will be faithfully examined.

**This will be a Zoom call (not a Webinar) though we ask that those who come mute themselves and submit their questions through the chat.
