Coping in Uncertain Times: Panel Discussion

As we have experienced the threat of the worst global pandemic in 100 years and several weeks of sheltering-in-place, we want to reach out as Christian counselors and ask: how are you coping?

Join us for a ZOOM panel led by Pastor Colleen with our church’s Counseling Ministries team to discuss: “Coping in Uncertain Times” at 10am on Sat. June 13.
There will be opportunity for you to ask questions of our 3 licensed therapists regarding dealing with these unprecedented times of stress and how to stay healthy physically, mentally, relationally, and spiritually. Let’s talk about how to cope while we keep our trust in God. Join us!

Our Panelists Include:

Cheryl Wayman, LMFT, a member of our church since 1976, founded and directed Cliff Drive Christian Counseling Center on our church campus for 22 years before transitioning that ministry into a Christian Counseling Referral Network for the past 3 years. She and her husband, Denny, retired from pastoring FMCSB after 40 years and still enjoy teaching classes on healthy relationships, church leadership and pastoral counseling.

Jennifer Miller, also a member of our church family, is a licensed marriage and family therapist who enjoys supporting individuals, adolescents and families. Before beginning her private practice in April of 2019, she served as the director of Hope Counseling Center for six years. Jennifer feels fortunate to be newly married to Joel and to have recently survived homeschooling her fabulous nine year old daughter, Lucy.

Beverly Chen was co-director with Cheryl Wayman of Cliff Drive Counseling Ministries and still assists with the ministry. She has a private practice in Santa Barbara and has been providing counseling for over 20 years in a variety of college settings. She enjoys mentoring and working with diverse population of women, adolescents and young adults. She attends the Free Methodist Church with her husband, Chandra Mallampalli, Professor of History at Westmont College. She enjoys traveling, hiking and spending time with family and friends over good food!
