Women's Retreat 2023

Lion’s Club, Carpinteria
8:30am Sign In/Breakfast - 9:00am Worship Begins

For Women’s Retreat this year we wanted to focus our retreat on healing found in Christ. We recognize the trauma, griefs, wounds, and stresses that have been magnified over the past several years, and want to provide, tools, support, and the love of Jesus to meet us wherever we might be in our healing process. We believe that our loving God wants to make us whole, in every way. He desires that our hearts, minds, bodies, and souls would be healed and open to Him.

We have the privilege of having Rev. Dr. Kate Wiebe be one of our speakers who will focus specifically on trauma--what it is and where we can start as individuals and a community to pursue healing. She is the founder of the Institute for Collective Trauma and Growth and is a pastor and therapist.

We also have the privilege of having Pastor Carolyn Latchison be one of our speakers. She is a pastor alongside her husband (Charles Latchison, our former Superintendent) at Light and Life West, a Free Methodist Church in Long Beach. Carolyn has so much wisdom and love to share and we have had a long-standing relationship with her. We are blessed that Carolyn will be bringing 15 of her leaders as well to join us at retreat!

Our very own Rev. Dr. Helen Rhee will be leading us in a prayer exercise to help us embody what we are learning.

We are expectant and hopeful for what the Holy Spirit will do as we gather together in community with our sisters! Please be in prayer for our time together!
