Women's Retreat 2018

FMCSB Women's Retreat
February 2-4, 2018

What: The women of the Free Methodist Church are returning to Cambria for our annual Women’s Retreat! This year we will be diving together into the book of Esther, eager to learn from her faithfulness and courage in such a perilous time for her and her people! We hope and pray that the retreat can provide the teachings, space, and fellowship to ponder how we too, like Esther, can be faithful "for such a time as this." Join us as we hear testimonies and teaching from the women in our congregation and share stories of triumph and loss with one another. There will be time to pray, worship, laugh, cry, play, nap, and rest alongside new and old friends. The retreat package includes sleeping accommodations for two nights, dessert on Friday evening, breakfast and dinner on Saturday (enjoy lunch in a quaint restaurant in town) and breakfast on Sunday.  The program includes free time on Saturday afternoon so that you may have private time or get together with friends to lunch and play in this beautiful area.  There will be a list of planned activities hosted by women from the church (i.e. volleyball, hike, yoga) that you may choose to participate in if you so desire. Transportation to retreat is by private car, we recommend carpooling with friends and roommates.

Where: Cambria Pines Lodge in Cambria, CA. We will be returning to the Cambria Pines Lodge, overlooking the village of Cambria, a 3-hour drive north of Santa Barbara. This peaceful location allows you to quiet yourself and feel God’s presence in a deep and refreshing way. Cambria Pines Lodge is located at 2905 Burton Drive in Cambria.  There are lovely gardens and a nature trail leading to Cambria Village with its quaint shops. The coast here is wild and rough, and this is where the California elephant seals gather to mate and raise their young.

When: February 2nd-4th, 2018. Arrive and check into the conference room to get your room key after 4pm on Friday, have dinner in the hotel, in town, or on your way to Cambria. The first scheduled event begins with dessert at 6:30pm in the conference room, worship begins at 7pm. Our retreat committee has planned inspiring programs and opportunities to fellowship for you on Friday evening, Saturday morning and evening, as well as Sunday morning until 11am.

Who: Women (18 and older) who want to deepen their relationship with Christ, who want to meet Christ,  who want to relax in the love of their church family, who want to worship. You don’t need to be a  member of the Free Methodist Church to enjoy this time. We encourage you to invite a friend or family member who is open to growing in her relationship with Christ and with Christian women to share this special experience. Please be in prayer for our speakers, leaders, and each person who will attend the retreat that we may all grow closer to God as we spend time with Him and His people.

How:  Registration is currently closed for this event. Registrations fees may be paid in-person at FMCSB by giving cash or check (made out to FMCSB with Women's Retreat in the memo) or online here (ACH only).

Your registration is not complete until you have paid in full!

World Dance Night

On September 20th from 6:30pm-8:00pm in the Upper Room the Women’s Ministry is hosting an international dance class put on by the local non-profit “World Dance for Humanity.”  World Dance does not require any special training and is based around basic movements.  Janet Reineck is the local World Dance instructor who is teaching our class; her goal is “to share the joy of international music and dance while serving people in need.” Come join us as we practice different ways of dance, hear about the work Janet is supporting in Rwanda, and continue to connect with each other while trying something new! A $10 dollar donation is suggested for the class. All proceeds will go toward humanitarian aid work in Rwanda!
