Encounter: What is God Doing in China and India?

  • FMCSB Upper Fellowship Room 1435 Cliff Drive Santa Barbara, CA 93109 (map)

Chandra and Bev had the opportunity of taking Westmont students on a study abroad program in Asia last fall.  They will share some highlights from their visits to less talked about places along the Silk Road in China and parts of India. They will talk about some of the major lessons they gained from this experience.  Chandra will focus on the changing political climate in both countries and new challenges facing Christians and other religious minorities.   Beverly will discuss new challenges facing Asian families in the area of mental health.  Finally, we hope to lead a discussion of what all of this has to do with us here in the U.S.?

Chandra is a professor of history at Westmont and has been attending FMC for 18 years. Bev was co-director with Cheryl Weyman of Cliff Drive Counseling Ministries and has a private practice here in Santa Barbara.
