We’re having a free Halloween party with games, crafts, face-paint, popcorn and snow cones! Our “trunk or treat” candy stations will be out from 12:00-1:30, with lunch available for purchase all afternoon (or until it’s all bought out).

Bring your family and friends and dress up in something fun! No scary or violent costumes, please. We’ll meet you in the parking lot of the Free Methodist Church. With balloons, a bounce house, and the smell of our BBQ lunch, we think you’ll recognize the party.

Invite your friends and let them know about it on Facebook.

Journey - 4th & 5th Confirmation Class

Journey - 4th & 5th Confirmation Class

"JOURNEY" (formerly known as confirmation) is a time of intentional preparation giving 4th and 5th graders the opportunity to reflect on the most fundamental beliefs of our faith and offering them a safe environment to ask questions. This confirmation time helps our kids to investigate the depths of the faith and helps them begin to understand what it means to become a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ and to make their first public profession of faith through baptism. During this time our 4th and 5th graders "make firm" what has gone before: God's prevenient grace and witness of parents and other persons of faith, the teachings of the Bible, life together in the church and the student's growing faith.

Pastor Doug will be teaching this class on two consecutive Sundays, May 14 and May 21, during the 9:30 am hour in their regular classroom. Even if your child has done this class before, there will always be new material and parts worth repeating. By the time they have finished this class over two years, they will have had four hours of training. For those who are ready to be baptized or re-affirm their infant baptism, we will be having a service on Sunday, June 4.

If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Doug (doug@fmcsb.org).

Parent Seminar: Personality and Family Dynamics

"If men are from Mars and women are from Venus, then what planet is my child from?"
or
"Personality and Family Dynamics"

A seminar to help you celebrate differences between you and your children. Have you noticed that your child very different from you?  When family members know and understand one another’s preferences and personality, they are less likely to assume they are 'right' and others are 'wrong.' This is true across many issues including management of time, approaches to schoolwork, decision-making, recreational activities, vacations, and even rules of the household.

Celia Howen, M.Ed, worked as a Career Counselor at Westmont College for 16 years.  She is in the beginning stages of creating her own business that has a focus on private career counseling, personal & professional development coaching, consulting, training and team building.  She is also attending Free Methodist Church with her husband Marshall who works as the Business Manager at Providence School and also owns Sunrise805 a local solar contracting company.
